The dog days of summer are here, but BMW makes it easy to stay cool with modern conveniences. BMW goes beyond just really cold air conditioning—it has created models that intelligently manage the sweltering heat of the season. Here are some of our favorite standard and available features that make BMW models an oasis all summer long.*
Comprehensive Controls
BMW passengers can enjoy multi-zone automatic climate control systems with intuitive air temperature sensors and air filtration systems. These multi-zone systems offer separate temperature and airflow settings for the driver and passengers. The temperature sensors help the system to know when the desired cabin temperature has been reached and automatically reduce airflow to maintain that temperature instead of continuing to blast cold air. Making things even more convenient, vehicles equipped with Advanced Vehicle and Key Memory will recall individual climate control settings and reset them when that driver returns for another ride.
One-Touch Panoramic Power Moonroof
There's nothing more refreshing on a hot day than opening all the windows and the moonroof and feeling the breeze blow through your hair. BMW models really make it a breeze with one-touch panoramic power moonroofs. With the single press of a button, the huge moonroof opens and you can breathe again.
Cabriolet
If the expansive panoramic moonroof is not enough for you, how about taking off the roof entirely? In some trims of the BMW 2-, 4-, or 6-series, as well as the new Z4 and all-electric i8, drivers can enjoy the authentic roadster experience, enjoying a breezy and exhilarating ride with the top down.
Ventilated Seats
Models equipped with the available perforated leather-trimmed seats can provide quick personal ventilation for passengers in the front and rear seats. The perforations in the leather wick air away from the occupants, quickly cooling to a comfortable temperature. Some models also include Dakota Leather upholstery with Sun-Reflective Technology to keep that soft leather cool to the touch, even on the sunniest days.
Pre-Conditioned Cabins
Thanks to the latest in connectivity, BMW drivers can set climate controls before they even open the car door. Simply download the BMW ConnectedDrive app on a compatible smartphone and sync the app to your BMW model. The app can be used for many remote control functions like locking and unlocking doors. The app can also activate the car's climate control, filling the cabin with cool air so the inside is a comfortable temperature on a hot day.
