2023 BMW 3 SERIES

Overview

Ever since its original debut in the mid-1970s, the BMW 3 Series represents the Ultimate Driving Machine in one of its purest forms. The 2023 model continues that legacy by delivering a fulfilling driving experience matched by stunning looks inside and out and the latest in cutting-edge technology features. Sharper curves, new LED headlights, and a refreshed kidney grille are just a few of the many refinements to the 3 Series’ iconic exterior design. The 3 Series’ wide, hunkered-down stance lets everyone know that a high-performance machine lurks underneath.

The Perfect Ride For…

Drivers who look forward to the journey ahead. The 2023 BMW 3 Series is a master at deftly blending the performance expected of a sports sedan with refined engineering and the premium experience of a luxury-oriented vehicle. A perfectly balanced chassis fitted with lightweight components and a well-tuned suspension ensures that the compact sedan offers brilliant dynamics on every drive. Intuitive technology features also ensure the 3 Series is as easy to live with as it is to toss around corners. The 3 Series also coddles you with an assortment of premium materials, from BMW’s own Sensatec synthetic leather upholstery to high-quality Vernasca leather.

Drive and Handling

Exceptional performance is a given with the BMW 3 Series. The standard 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivers a solid 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, good enough for a 5.6-second 0 to 60 mph acceleration time. BMW also offers a plug-in variant of the 3 Series. The addition of an electric motor bumps up the sports sedan’s power ratings to 288 horsepower, although torque decreases to a more modest 258 pound-feet. Despite this, the plug-in hybrid version can comfortably coast on all-electric power for up to 22 miles. Both engines not only share an 8-speed automatic transmission with Launch Control and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, but also the choice between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

Of course, the 3 Series wouldn’t be complete without the customary M models. The standard M3 sedan features a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engine with 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque at the ready. It’s also the only vehicle in the entire 3 Series lineup to offer a 6-speed manual transmission, which should make fans willing to row their own gears very happy. The M3 Competition ups the ante by maximizing the 3.0-liter engine’s capabilities, resulting in a 503-horsepower machine with 479 pound-feet of torque available. The M3 Competition relies on the 8-speed M STEPTRONIC automatic transmission for fast, precise gear changes.

Key Features

Curved Display

The BMW Curved Display represents a first for the 3 Series lineup and a step up from ordinary information displays. The new display blends a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen for a seamless visual experience. The included iDrive 8 operating system also features full customization and remote software updates to keep the digital experience as fresh as possible.

M Sport Package

Choosing the M Sport package adds a number of handling and styling upgrades to the standard BMW 3 Series. These include a specially tuned suspension for better handling, unique 19-inch alloy wheels, Shadowline exterior trim, a unique aerodynamic kit, and a rear spoiler. Inside, you’ll find an Anthracite headliner and M steering wheel.

BMW Ultimate Care

All new BMWs are covered by BMW Ultimate Care for 3 years or 36,000 miles. This coverage takes care of your regular maintenance for your first three years of ownership. Services include oil changes, brake fluid, cabin and engine air filters, spark plugs, remote control/key battery, and vehicle checks. These are covered by the program when they are performed according to the vehicle's maintenance schedule.
