THE 2020 BMW POWER ROUNDUP
A closer look at BMW's most powerful models
After one hundred years of automotive engineering evolution, the modern driver deserves modern power. BMW of Silver Spring understands, so this month, we’re honoring the top three most powerful models in the BMW lineup. And the winners are… (Please imagine a drumroll in your head.)
Most Horsepower
The M5 Competition sedan (pictured above) uses a 4.4-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo V8 to produce a heart-pounding 617 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. Performance car fans might tear up at the sight of this athletic machine launching from 0 to 60 in 3.1 seconds and crushing the road at a blistering top speed of 153 mph. Watch how BMW attempted TWO GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ titles last year in the M5:
Most Powerful Hybrid
The i8 uses BMW eDrive technology to combine an all-electric motor and a 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo 3-cylinder engine. This modern marvel puts out an impressive 369 hp and 420 lb-ft of instant torque, and it accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. Even better, it does all of this while getting an amazing 69 MPGe.* The future is now.
Most Towing Capacity
The BMW X7 SAV was introduced last year as the automaker's largest vehicle to date. An impressive 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo V6 engine propels this luxury powerhouse over mountains and down the interstate. Not only can you seat six passengers comfortably on the inside, you can also tow up to 7,500 lbs for your weekend lake trip. That’s a boat or a couple of jet skis on a trailer (AKA "an incredibly fun way to spend a weekend").
These are just the top three on our list, and there are many more feats of strength from BMW we would love to tell you about. To learn more about them, come see us at BMW of Silver Spring or contact us to experience the most powerful options we have in our showroom.
