Drive & Handling
The 430i comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. All 4 Series models are offered with a standard eight-speed automatic with standard rear-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive.
The 440i comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder capable of 320 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. Turbo lag is virtually eliminated through the manufacturer’s Double-VANOS variable valve timing and direct fuel injection.
Driving Dynamics Control gives the driver ultimate domain over how the 4 Series performs, with four drive modes to fine-tune the response of the engine: ECO PRO, COMFORT, SPORT, and SPORT+ modes. Dynamic Stability Control, Brake Fade Compensation, Start-off Assistant, Brake Drying, and Dynamic Traction Control work together to provide an agile handling experience befitting of an iconic BMW in the making.
